Why Am I Doing This?

Confession: I am not a soccer fanboy nor do I know much about soccer. I can sit down and enjoy a soccer match but if you to ask me to talk about things like how well that player plays or why offside etc I would have no clue how to answer. But yet with Singapore Pools opening up soccer betting, it makes me ponder if there is an easier way to understand soccer matches and of course win something out of it.

Whenever there are odds or probabilities, there will be someone trying to see if it is possible to beat the system. Kinda of natural for mathematicians or people who like numbers to do so and this lead to the urban legend of how using mathematics can help predict soccer matches. Many believe with this magical mathematical formula, anyone can bet on any soccer matches and win 100% of the time and becoming rich beyond ones wildest dreams. But does this formula really exist? The answer is NO!

Sad to say there is no formula that could 100% predicts the outcome of a soccer match, not even in a 1X2 situation. If there is really a 100% chance to predict the outcome of the match, bookmakers like Singapore Pools would not have allow soccer betting at all.

But does that mean that Soccer betting is really a game of luck? Not entirely true too. There are ways that one can improve the chances of winning by applying some betting strategies. This involves studying the odds of various matches against various bookmakers around the world and then formulating the exact betting strategy for the particular match. With this betting strategy, it allows me to have up to 86.11% chance of winning at any match with a profit of about 10% average. 

However this is not without it risk. As mentioned earlier soccer matches are pure random and should the result fall out of what the betting strategy had covered then would lose all placed in the bet. You will be asking me then is it worth it to risk for just a 10% return? In my view why not. There is no other investment that I know of that can give me an average 10% return at such guaranteed return rate.
